Health insurance has very much importance in everyone’s life. When we are prone to some diseases, we may not have instant cash to seek proper and efficient medical treatment. Those people who are above the age of 65 come under this plan. Physically disabled persons who are aged below 65 and those with permanent kidney failure also come under the provision of this plan. Medicare insurance plan is very much advantageous. The various benefits of Medicare plans include drug, medical and hospitalization insurance.

There are 14 different programs in the Medicare plan to provide financial help to the elderly persons. Medicare part A, part B and part D are the different Medicare plans. Part A covers inpatient hospital expenses. They also provide home health care and nursing facilities. Medicare part B covers home health care, preventive services, doctor’s services and outpatient care.

Part C covers the cost of prescribed drugs. Medicines taken by the patients when they are in hospitals are covered by Part A. Medicare Part A addresses hospital insurance while part B is for medical insurance. Choosing part B or D will not affect the coverage of part A. Part C is the combination of the coverage of all the three plans. It is also known as Medicare Advantage Plan.

California Medicare Part D is a drug insurance program. This plan is available for every old aged person who has Medicare. It is an optional plan and it does not depend on the health status or income of the customer. An important thing to be considered is that insurance company will provide financial assistance to prescribed drugs only. The individuals who are subjected to the benefits under the plan A or B are eligible for prescribed drug coverage of Part D. You can obtain the benefit of this plan through two other private plans. You can either join Prescription Drug Plan (PDP) or Medicare Advantage (MA) Plan. The first one provides drug coverage only while latter covers both prescription drugs and all other medical services.
